The Kansas City Chiefs started this season off as well as humanly possible. Alex Smith had swag, Andy Reid wasn't messing up with clock management, and all seemed well in the world. So well, in fact, first round NFL Draft pick Patrick Mahomes became a bit of an afterthought.
That was so a few weeks ago, though. As for more recent happenings, the Chiefs are no longer winning games in bulk, Alex Smith is trotting about the gridiron minus swag, and Andy Reid is just being himself. This has, in turn, resulted in Patrick Mahomes coming back to the forefront of a supposed QB controversy.
Yeah … about that. It isn't happening.
According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, the Chiefs will not be benching the swagless Smith for the rookie. At least not in terms of the immediate future.

There's options, receivers playing running back, speed all over, shovel passes out the rear, and so on. As someone who likes to be entertained, that is an entertaining brand of football.
Hopefully the Chiefs can right some wrongs soon enough that this entertaining style of offense can eventually be transitioned to Smith's inevitable replacement. Otherwise, if the wrongs keep happening, Reid's fun style of offense will be sent packing with him.
Who do you guys want to see starting at QB for Kansas City?
