Second-year wideout Antonio Callaway of the Cleveland Browns faces a four-game suspension to start the 2019 NFL season. The penalty was handed down by the league for violating its substance abuse policy.

Despite the setback, Callaway, 22, is reportedly taking the suspension and controversy in stride. He is doing the most to prove himself in the wake of the unfortunate news for the Cleveland Browns' wide receiver.

“We’re very proud of Antonio,’’ Kawa said. “Antonio Callaway will prove to a lot of people that he’s the player the Browns drafted. More than that, he’ll prove he’s the good person that we all know he is.’’

Callaway was selected in the fourth round of the 2018 draft by the Browns out of the University of Florida. He made 43 receptions in 16 games and 11 starts during his rookie season, recording 586 yards and five touchdowns.

Callaway is supposed to be a solid depth piece for quarterback Baker Mayfield and Cleveland's offense, which also has Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry on the team. Nevertheless, the disappointment in Callaway's suspension is beginning to set in, and although the Browns have Landry and Beckham lining up with Mayfield, it's certainly upsetting to miss Callaway, who could reduce pressure from the two star wide receivers.
