One of the NFL players who seemed to declare they were kneeling the quickest was Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield, following what has been a month of NBA, WNBA, and MLB players kneeling during the national anthem in protest with ongoing social unrest in the United States.

Mayfield earlier this summer responded to a fan on Instagram telling the user he would “absolutely” kneel this upcoming season.

Now, according to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, Mayfield has no regrets on that decision and still plans on kneeling.

“I don’t have any regrets,’' Mayfield said on a Zoom call before practice Tuesday. “Right is right and wrong is wrong. It’s nothing against the military. Anybody that knows me knows I complete support the military. It’s a human rights issue.‘'

Mayfield once again came with strong comments while speaking to the press. He makes it clear that it is nothing against the military and that he completely supports them. However, this is a human rights issue.

He even goes as far as saying “right is right and wrong is wrong.”

This is pretty obviously something that the Browns' rising third-year quarterback feels very strongly about. It does not seem to bother him that some people are upset with the decision, while others are seeing him in a new positive light.

Losing old fans or gaining new ones is trivial. Mayfield wants to stand up for what he believes in. That is admirable, and hopefully everyone can respect his decision and see from where he is coming.

Mayfield will be kneeling this season. He does not care what you think about the situation. This is his decision and he is doing what he thinks is right. There seem to be no regrets.
