The Cleveland Browns are set at the quarterback position, with Deshaun Watson as their starter for the 2022-2023 season. But, it wasn't easy or pretty, and the Browns are still trying to clean up the mess they made in the process.

Last week, Baker Mayfield joined the “YNK” podcast. He said that he felt disrespected by the way the Browns' front office handled his situation.

“I feel disrespected, 100%. Because I was told one thing, and they completely did another.”

The Browns organization hasn't commented on the situation since the podcast episode came out in mid-April. However, Kevin Stefanski was recently asked about Mayfield's admission.

Browns beat writer Mary Kay Cabot tweeted the head coach's awkward and blunt quote Wednesday morning.

Clearly, Stefanski didn't want to make matters worse. He probably also didn't want to air out the Browns' dirty laundry, since it is such a “unique” situation for an organization to be in.

From an outside perspective, the Browns did do Mayfield pretty dirty. He thought Cleveland was sticking with him, then the team completely flipped the script and acquired Deshaun Watson.

It's unclear where Mayfield will end up for the start of the 2022-2023 season. However, it's pretty obvious that he wants to be anywhere except for Cleveland. Entering his fifth season, Mayfield still has plenty of potential to be a starter in the league. And, there are many teams still on the market for a starting quarterback this offseason.
