The Cleveland Browns have requested permission to interview Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Greg Roman for their head coaching vacancy according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Roman has done wonders with Lamar Jackson and it would make sense the Browns would want him to work with their young quarterback, Baker Mayfield. Last week, Roman was asked about the buzz surrounding his name last week and he said he wasn't focused on it, rather focusing on how how to get the Ravens another Super Bowl victory.

“You just really don’t even pay attention to it,” Roman said, via the Baltimore Ravens team website. “I have so much to do and I love my job. I think the most important thing is, do a great job at the job you’re doing. All that stuff will come to pass as it does. It’s in other people’s control. I’ve got every minute of every day filled up.”

It's unclear if Greg Roman would have an interest in joining the Browns. However, working with Mayfield and trying to get the most out of the young quarterback might be appealing to him.

The Browns haven't had a lot of success in hiring new coaches and the next one will arguably be the most important hire in team history. Cleveland needs to get Mayfield elevated to the next level soon and the team needs to get back into the playoffs, or they could be set back for another long period of time.

The Browns have also requested permission from the New England Patriots to interview Josh McDaniels.
