Watson not being indicted by the grand jury on his sexual assault lawsuits has spurred NFL teams to try and acquire him. Before being shipped yesterday, both the Atlanta Falcons and the New Orleans Saints were considered frontrunners for the ex-Texans QB. However, in a stunning turn of events, Watson selected the Browns.
The Browns paid a premium to acquire Deshaun Watson, as they traded multiple picks and assets. They also made sure that Watson would get paid even if he is sanctioned by the league or other authorities. From a purely football perspective, this move makes so much sense.
