Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt has been cleared to practice for the Browns' training camp scrimmage on Saturday, according to Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Hunt missed the first eight practice of training camp while dealing with a groin injury.

The Browns signed Hunt earlier this offseason, but,  he will be suspended for the first eight games of the regular season as a result of him assaulting a woman in February 2018.

Hunt played 11 games for the Kansas City Chiefs last season before a video of Hunt's incident surfaced in November, in which the 23-year-old assaulted a woman outside of a Cleveland hotel. The Chiefs promptly released Hunt.

During the time he did play for Kansas City in 2018, Hunt rushed for 824 yards and seven touchdowns while averaging 4.6 yards per carry. In addition, he hauled in 26 receptions for 378 yards and seven scores.

The Willoughby, Oh. native, who played his collegiate football at Toledo, was originally selected by the Chiefs in the third round (86th pick overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft.

He went on to have a spectacular rookie campaign, leading the league with 1,327 yards on the ground and punching in eight rushing touchdowns while registering 4.9 yards per attempt. He also caught 53 passes for 455 yards and three scores, making a Pro Bowl appearance as a result.

Kareem Hunt will be joining a Browns backfield that also includes Nick Chubb and Duke Johnson, the latter of which requested a trade not long after Cleveland signed Hunt.

The Browns went 7-8-1 this past season, marking their best finish since winning 10 games all the way back in 2007.
