The Cleveland Browns suffered a huge blow this week after sophomore linebacker Mack Wilson incurred a knee injury, which could potentially rule him out of his second season with the team.

Cleveland just started to train in full pads as they slowly ease the players in this year's training camp. Unfortunately, not everything can be controlled in a full-contact sport, which was the case for Wilson hyperextending his knee.

The 22-year-old Browns LB took to Twitter to assure everyone that he'll be back better than ever.

“A lot of emotions running through my head right now, but I always knew even as a kid that God makes no mistakes,” Wilson tweeted. “5five1 will be back and better with an even bigger chip on my shoulder, I promise you.”

The Browns were hoping to get Mack Wilson's full service this year in their quest to bounce back from missing the playoffs in 2019 with a lowly 6-10 record. The team had welcome developments this offseason, as Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham Jr. looked poised to return to the gridiron, so Wilson's injury is a bit of a damper for Cleveland.

After being drafted by the Browns in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft, Wilson proved to be quite the pick for the team after tallying a total of 82 combined tackles, one sack and seven passes defended in his debut season. He also suited up for all of the team's 16 games, started in 14 of those outings.

Hopefully for Cleveland, Mac Wilson's injury isn't as bad as initially advertised and he gets a chance to suit up this 2020 to beef up the their defensive line.
