NFL players claiming they get drug tested more than all other players is not new. Eric Reid did it in 2018; now it's Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. doing the same in 2019.

Following Thursday's win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, Beckham proclaimed that he is drug tested more often than over players. In fact, he said no player gets tested more than him.

(The NFL) made me come in Monday when we had an off day. Had a drug test,” Beckham said on Friday, via Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com. “Made me come in Thursday after the game. Had another drug test… Nobody is getting tested like me. I know people who didn’t get tested for five months in the offseason and I’m getting tested every time.”

Beckham may feel as if he is getting drug tested more than anyone else, but that's not against the rules. The random process entails some players getting tested more than others; some get them less frequently.

If Beckham feels he is being treated wrongly, he can file a grievance with the NFLPA. The league, per Cabot, declined to comment specifically on the matter. Instead, they regurgitated the same answer given out last year for Reid's case.

“Neither the union or the league are involved in the random selection of players to be tested,” league spokesman Brian McCarthy told Cabot. “By means of a computer program, the independent administrator determines which 10 players will be randomly selected each week.”

An investigation on Reid's claims found that the process had appropriately been followed as to him. Beckham, whether he likes it or not, may field the same result.
