The Cleveland Browns had an up-and-down September where they experienced tremendous highs and terrible lows. However, there's a nice little bow to end their month in the form of rookie punter Jamie Gillan.

Nate Ulrich of Akron Beacon Journal wrote about the impressive impact the Ark-Pine Bluff product made on the Browns that brought him this award.

Gillian tied for second in the conference with 11 punts inside the 20-yard line and helped the Browns limit opponents to just 19 punt return yards in the first month of the season. His 11 punts inside the 20 were the second-most ever by a Browns player in September.

Gillan was a key component to the team's 2-2 record this season. While their losses to the Tennessee Titans and Los Angeles Rams were unfortunate, it cannot be denied that his punting helped the Browns keep it competitive against the competition.

Gillan, who was born in Inverness, Scotland, was undrafted probably due to the obscurity of his alma mater. However, he made his presence felt in the preseason with an incredible 74-yard punt during the team's Preseason Week 2 win against the Indianapolis Colts.

He has proven ever since then that he can kick footballs regardless of the distance, forcing his way into the Browns special teams. The Browns might have a bona fide stud at punter for the next few years with the shrewd pick-up of Gillan.

Cleveland will definitely count on his punting to put the team in advantageous situations.
