For the first time in a long time, the Cleveland Browns' franchise has a lot of hope. Baker Mayfield took over the reigns of the franchise in Week 3 and made his first career start in Week 4 against the Oakland Raiders. While the Browns were not able to win their second consecutive game, they played well and took the Raiders all the way down to the wire in overtime.

Mayfield has taken over as the “King of Cleveland” with LeBron James no longer in town. He has enough swagger and a big enough skill-set to entertain the city and that has shown over the past couple of weeks.

In his first career start, Mayfield was able to throw his first career touchdown pass. The touchdown came on a 49-yard touchdown pass to tight end Darren Fells.

When everything was said and done, Mayfield completed 21 of his 41 passing attempts for 295 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. He also picked up 10 yards on the ground. Not a bad starting debut for the young quarterback out of Oklahoma.

Cleveland may not be a playoff contender this season, but they are trending in the right direction. Hue Jackson finally has his quarterback of the future and Mayfield has been playing with extreme confidence.

Getting his first touchdown pass under his belt was a great sight for Mayfield and Browns' fans alike. If he continues to develop and reaches his full potential, the Browns could have something very special.
