“The Browns is the Browns” is one of the more memorable lines from the last NFL season. They were uttered by Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster ahead of the team's matchup against the Cleveland Browns in the wild-card playoff game. This was Smith-Schuster's response to a question on whether the Browns they are facing is the same as the ones they previously played.

The controversial Steelers wideout discussed the comment in a segment of PFF PM and its role in possibly sparking something in Cleveland.

“Probably a lot, honestly. I’m not going to lie to you,” the Steelers WR stated. “It got to a point where the Cleveland Browns had a billboard up in Cleveland that said, ‘The Browns is the Browns.’ I think by me saying that, it says that a lot of people care about what I say. . . . At the end of the day, I said what I said. I don’t take anything back. They did come out there, they did whoop our ass. It is what it is. We lost that game. We lost early in that game in the first five, 10 minutes. We still fought.”

Cleveland came away with the win, 48-37. Pittsburgh fought hard to get back into the game, but the 28-point, first-quarter hole they put themselves in was too deep to climb out.

The fact that Smith-Schuster had the maturity to take responsibility and accept the implications of his words is admirable per Mike Florio of NBC Sports. “The Browns is the Browns” looks like it is here to stay and could be a mantra for Cleveland every time they face the Steelers.
