Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey recently made headlines for his opinions on the state of the quarterbacks in the NFL. Needless to say, the majority of his takes were not so endearing to the players discussed, including Indianapolis Colts signal-caller Andrew Luck.
According to Zak Keefer of the IndyStar, Luck was just happy to be mentioned:
So Kevin Bowen asked Andrew Luck about Jalen Ramsey’s “he’s not that good comments.” Luck laughed and said “Nice to be included.”
Luck's reaction to Ramsey's comments should come as no surprise. He has heard all the criticisms about him during his hiatus from the NFL due to a shoulder injury. He has not played since the final stretch of the 2016 NFL season and is still relatively green from his lingering ailments. As a result, the consensus is split regarding whether or not he will be able to return to form as a top-tier QB.
Prior to the injury, Luck was one of the most talented quarterbacks in the NFL. However, reports about the change to his throwing mechanics raise concerns about how he will fare once the regular season starts. Furthermore, the current state of the Colts organization leaves little hope for a substantial turnaround.
Luck was solid in the preseason opener versus the Seattle Seahawks. Unfortunately, he struggled to find his footing last week against the Baltimore Ravens, completing just 6-of-13 for 50 yards and an interception. While it is clear that his return is still a work in progress, Luck seems optimistic that he will be able to figure things out by the time the regular season rolls around.
