Expectations were high for the Dallas Cowboys as they entered this season. After all, they finished with a 13-3 record last year with a pair of rookies in quarterback Dak Prescott and running back Ezekiel Elliott leading the team. But, a 2-3 start has some fans growing concerned and fearful that Dallas is regressing.

Prescott, though, wants to allay these fears, telling Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News that everything is still fine in Arlington.

“There's definitely no panic,” Prescott said.

The Cowboys have dropped their last two games, suffering back-to-back setbacks at the hands of the Los Angeles Rams and the Green Bay Packers, respectively, before taking a bye in Week 6.

Prescott can’t be pinned with much blame for Dallas not being in great shape from a standings perspective, however. The sophomore quarterback has been steady under center with 1,192 passing yards and 11 touchdowns against four interceptions. He also has two rushing touchdowns to add to his stat line.

Where the Cowboys are floundering is on the other side of the field. Dallas is surrendering 26.4 points per game, third worst in the NFL, and is allowing 339.8 total yards per contest. On the flipside, the Cowboys’ offense is humming, producing 25 points per game on 356.2 total yards a game – both top 10 figures in the league.

The Cowboys have a grand opportunity to rebound and get their morale back in Week 7, as they will face a winless San Francisco 49ers team with a rookie quarterback in C.J. Beathard.
