The Dallas Cowboys are set to get a major offensive boost with the return of star running back Ezekiel Elliott this week after he completed his six-game suspension. With that in mind, owner Jerry Jones stated during a radio interview that the Cowboys may also have the services of All-Pro left tackle Tyron Smith for Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Per the Dallas Morning News:

“We’re rewarded that the MRI and the X-rays didn’t show as severe damage as it certainly might have,” Jones said on “Shan and RJ” on 105.3 The Fan. “So he’ll be looking toward trying to get back. I think it’s questionable, but we’ll see how this week goes. He knows we’re down to these last two ballgames, so we’ll be taking a look at it.”

Smith missed this past Sunday's contest against the Oakland Raiders, pushing Byron Bell into the starting lineup. If he's unable to suit up due to his persistent knee issues against the Seahawks, Bell will likely get the call again.

The 27-year-old is widely regarded as the best left tackle in the league with four straight Pro Bowl selections, two First-Team All-Pro nods, and two Second-Team All-Pro selections. His presence provides significant stability along the left side of the offensive line, which has a major impact on both the running and passing games.

The Cowboys have been cautious with Smith's injury situation over the last few weeks, and should remain on that course given his importance to the team's success long-term.
