The Dallas Cowboys are on the clock. They will have until today to finally get some deal done for an Earl Thomas trade, seeing as the main compensation the whole deal with the Seattle Seahawks is apparently centered on – Dallas' second-round pick – is coming later tonight.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, a deal to acquire Thomas still remains possible, although he describes it as a long shot at best.

The speculation surrounding Thomas and the Cowboys has been swirling for basically the entire offseason. While it was initially reported that the Seahawks were asking for a first- and third-rounders for their star safety, it seems like Dallas’ second-rounder would get a deal done.
Of course, that’s just one part of the equation. The Cowboys would still need to commit to a new long-term deal for Thomas, who is on the final year of his deal, if he’s to come back home to Texas.
After having all this time trying to get a deal done, it would be a surprise if the Seahawks and Cowboys are successfully able to hash one out at the last minute. But with all the other surprises that took place during the first round of the draft, perhaps there’s one more blockbuster deal that suddenly comes to fruition.
