The Dallas Cowboys are in a good spot. They are 10-4, tied with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Arizona Cardinals to the #2 seed in the NFC. They have basically locked up the NFC East division. Yet, not all is well with the Cowboys. The offense, led by Dak Prescott, has struggled mightily ever since Prescott came back from his calf injury. It's hard to figure out how, considering all of the talent on Dallas' offense.
Pro Bowl wide receiver Amari Cooper vented some frustration Thursday. He even provided a possible solution to the offensive strife. According to NBC Sports' Charean Williams, Cooper needs to get the ball more.

While doing his weekly interview on 105.3 The Fan, Cooper provided detail.

We’re not converting a lot of their turnovers into touchdowns. A lot of them are field goals. And I feel like I could be a huge part of that, so that’s what frustrates me. I think I can do more in the red zone if I get some targets. I can do more on third down if I get the targets. To help the offense be what we need to be, I think I can definitely help change that.”
Cooper's sentiments are based up by the facts. The Cowboys defense has created 12 turnovers over the last three games. Yet they are averaging 25 points per game during that stretch.
Over the last five weeks, Dallas has only converted six red zone opportunities into touchdowns out of 18. 33% in the red zone is awful.
Amari Cooper missed two weeks in November with COVID-19. Since his return, he has only seen 14 targets. He turned that into 100 yards and 1 touchdown.
Cooper is coming a back-to-back stellar seasons but the emergence of second-year wideout CeeDee Lamb has relegated him to the team's number two spot. At times, it looks like Dak Prescott is force-feeding the ball to Lamb. It would be wise of Prescott to remember how good his other receiver is on the other side of the field.
