Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott believes that the team clinching the NFC East title is just the start of something a lot bigger.
The Cowboys are one of the hottest teams in the NFL right now, as Jason Garrett's team has won six of their past seven games after struggling to a 3-5 start on the year.
Now, with the division and No. 4 seed in the NFC both officially locked up heading into the Week 17 matchup against the New York Giants, many people are starting to turn their attention to the playoff possibilities for the Cowboys.
And it sounds like Prescott and company are ready for the challenges that will come along with trying to make a run to a Super Bowl.
Here's what the Dallas quarterback had to say about the team's mindset, courtesy of ESPN's Todd Archer:
“This is just the start,” quarterback Dak Prescott said. “This is just the beginning. This is something that we set out and wanted to do way back in the offseason. This just gives us a chance to go and get the greater goal.”
Prescott has thrown for 3,498 yards and 18 touchdowns this season while racking up 305 yards and six scores on the ground.
The Dallas offense hasn't been as crisp in recent weeks, but with Prescott and running back Ezekiel Elliott leading the way, there's no doubt that this is a difficult offensive attack to defend.
And due to that, it may give the Cowboys a chance at returning to the NFL's biggest game for the first time since 1995.
