Despite recent rumors claiming that his calf injury is worse than expected, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott made it clear that he is doing fine. In fact, according to the veteran signal-caller, he had a plan to play in Week 8 all along before the team came up with another option.

Prescott had always been a game-time decision heading to Sunday's contest, and there were high hopes he would suit up against the Minnesota Vikings given that he even joined the Cowboys in their pre-game warmups. However, head coach Mike McCarthy and Co. eventually ruled against playing him, starting Cooper Rush instead.

The Cowboys came out with the win as Rush threw for two touchdowns to lead the way. And according to Prescott, it was all within their plan and expectations.

“I had a plan all week, trying to progress and get myself out there. We made a call at the end of having a chance to come out with win, without me playing, and be able to get healthy and not have something re-injure and linger past this week,” Prescott said, per team reporter Rob Phillips.

By the looks of it, Dak Prescott has already recovered from his injury and his Week 8 absence was merely a precautionary measure to ensure that he's 100 percent before he takes the field.

The Cowboys play the Denver Broncos in Week 9, and it's safe to expect the 28-year-old to suit up for that game at the AT&T Stadium in front of the home fans.
