The Dallas Cowboys are going against tradition on Thursday night when they play the San Francisco 49ers having quarterback Dak Prescott starting in this game.

According to David Moore of the Dallas Morning News, most of the starters including Prescott will play one or two series. The two starters that will be sitting out are running back Ezekiel Elliott and Sean Lee.

A big reason for the Cowboys starting Prescott is all the change that the wide receivers and tight end have experienced this offseason. If you look at the track record of big-time quarterbacks in this league, in the history of the league, not many of them play and have the success that he has had in the first couple of years in their career, first rattle out of the box, as rookies.

The first team offense really needs to show something early this preseason if they don't want their fans to go into a state of panic.
