Much was speculated on whether the Dallas Cowboys would ever see glimpses of quarterback Dak Prescott's old self following his season-ending ankle injury last year. To the surprise of many, Prescott has not only bounced back but is arguably on one of the more formidable stretches of his career.

Through five games last season, Prescott posted a 99.6 passer rating to go along with nine passing touchdowns. In five games this season, he sits at a 116.9 passer rating and 13 passing touchdowns recorded—both of which rank in the top five in the NFL this year.

Ahead of the New England Patriots' Week 6 matchup against the Cowboys, head coach Bill Belichick has been watching film on Prescott and stands impressed with his play following such an arduous injury, which he elaborated further on during a press conference on Wednesday.

“He looks pretty good,” Belichick said. “He's right at the top of the league in passing. I mean, they're at the top of the league in everything, so whatever stat you want to talk about, they're at the top of the league in it. He's the trigger guy, so he's making it all go.”

Prescott’s success this season has much been credited to his stout ability at reading defenses pre-snap and during plays. Belichick believes that the Cowboys passer is one of the more potent quarterbacks in the league in this aspect of play.

“He's good at it,” Belichick said. “I wouldn't compare him to anyone else, but yeah. He's good at it. He knows where to go with the ball. You want to make every quarterback do that. You don't want to just tell them what you're in and see what they can do about it. Make them figure it out. Make them work for it. Change it up on them a little bit.”

For a Patriots defense that currently ranks 27th in the NFL in total blitzes with 34, the unit will have much work to do to contain Prescott this week.
