Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott is one of the best running backs in the league, and one of the biggest reasons why is because he starts strong. Like during the Cowboys' NFC Wild Card Round matchup against the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday, for example:
Ezekiel Elliott finished the 1st half against the #Seahawks with 91 rush yards
In 42 career games, Elliott averages 49.6 rush YPG in the 1st half (including playoffs), the most of any player in the last 20 seasons#DallasCowboys @dallascowboys @EzekielElliott

On the year, Elliott rushed for a league-leading 1,434 yards and six touchdowns this season while averaging 4.7 yards per carry. In addition, he hauled in 77 receptions for 567 yards and three scores en route to a Pro Bowl selection and First-Team All-Pro honors.
The 23-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Ohio State University, was originally selected by the Cowboys with the fourth overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft.
He took the league by storm during his rookie campaign, racking up an NFL-best 1,631 yards and 15 touchdowns, registering 5.1 yards per attempt.
Last year, Elliott had to serve a six-game suspension, so he was limited to 10 games. During that time, he totaled 983 yards while reaching the end zone seven times, recording 4.1 yards per carry.
Elliott is also reportedly seeking a contract extension this offseason, so Dallas better get ready to pay up.
The Cowboys won 10 games this year, capturing the NFC East division title for the second time in three years. They started the season just 3-5, but rebounded by winning seven of their last eight games to make the playoffs.
However, playoff success has been hard to come by for Dallas over the last two decades and change, as the Cowboys have totaled just two postseason victories since 1997. Their last playoff win came during the 2014-15 campaign.
