The Dallas Cowboys are trying to get a new deal done with quarterback Dak Prescott, and it seems like the Cowboys will eventually ensure that he remains in Dallas for a long time.
Owner Jerry Jones has spoken glowingly of Prescott, and head coach Jason Garrett has followed suit, lauding the signal-caller's leadership abilities.

We needed to get a young guy in here to potentially compete for the backup spot but to also potentially be a guy that became our next quarterback. We all know what happened, Tony got hurt, and Dak was pressed into being our starting quarterback as a rookie, his first year out of college. And he just came in and played so well.”
The way Prescott played after being thrown into the fire during his rookie campaign was certainly admirable, and while he may not be the most skilled quarterback in the league, don't think for a second his response to adversity is not sitting in the minds of the Cowboys executives at the negotiating table.
Prescott is coming off of a 2018 campaign in which he threw for 3,885 yards, 22 touchdowns, and eight interceptions while completing 67.7 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 96.9.
He led the Cowboys to an NFC East division title and then took them to a Wild Card Round playoff win over the Carolina Panthers, representing just their third playoff win since 1997.
