With Dak Prescott trying to negotiate a new deal with the Dallas Cowboys, it would certainly behoove him to show some improvement, and Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett says he has done just that, as Garrett says he has been impressed with Prescott's better footwork and throwing motion, according to Cowboys writer John Owning.

Prescott reportedly turned down $30 million annually from Dallas and is seeking a deal worth $40 million per year, something that many have scoffed at given Prescott's production thus far.

The 26-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Mississippi State, was originally selected by the Cowboys in the fourth round (135th pick overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft.

He was not expected to start for Dallas during his rookie year, but due to a preseason injury to Tony Romo, Prescott was thrown into the fray immediately and started all 16 games for the Cowboys, throwing for 3,667 yards, 23 touchdowns and four interceptions while completing 67.8 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 104.9 en route to a Pro Bowl appearance.

The following year, Prescott took a bit of a step back, throwing for 3,324 yards, 22 touchdowns and 13 picks, completing 62.9 percent of his passes and registering a passer rating of 86.6.

He then bounced back in 2018, finishing with 3,885 yards, 22 touchdowns and eight interceptions while completing 67.7 percent of his throws and recording a passer rating of 96.9, making another Pro Bowl in the process.

Prescott is entering the final year of his current deal and is scheduled to make $2.025 million in 2019.

Meanwhile, Dallas won 10 games and captured the NFC East division title this past season, ultimately losing to the Los Angeles Rams in the Divisional Round of the playoffs.
