There has been a lot of talk over the last couple of weeks about Jason Garrett's job security but even as some are calling for his firing, Dallas Cowboys Jerry Jones seems to want to keep him around, at least for now.

On Tuesday, Jones made an appearance on 105.3 The Fan and in a roundabout way, Jones gave him a vote of confidence, although it wasn't a full vote. Jones said the team has a lot invested in Garrett, and he thinks that if he was in the open market he would have a lot of interest.

“I want to talk about our team, talk about coach,” Jones said via Pro Football Talk. “I have felt that we got a lot invested in Jason Garrett. He’s had a lot of years that he’s been a part of the Cowboys and he evolved into what, I think, is a top coach.”

“He would be a very sought after coach if he were out here in the open market. So, there’s a lot of pluses there. He brings a lot to the table and I can genuinely say that that is not a thought that I am having. So, it would be unfair to our fans for me to have any indication about what I may think the future is as far as head coach.”

Jones also made clear that the plan now is to let Garrett finish out the season, see how the Cowboys finish and then reevaluate where they want to go.

It still seems like an uphill climb that Garrett keeps his job, but he should at least have his job through the end of the year.
