There's been much optimism on Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott's availability ever since he suffered a calf injury during the game-winning play against the New England Patriots in Week 6.
With the Cowboys entering their bye week, Prescott seemed to have a lengthy runway for recovery before their Week 8 tilt against the Minnesota Vikings.
But now fast forward to the day in question, and now the starter situation for the Cowboys is “still up in the air”. The latest news doesn't stem any fears that Dak Prescott could miss his first game of the season due to injury.

Cowboys’ QB Dak Prescott, whose status for tonight is “still up in the air”, per a source, is dealing with a calf injury. He hardly is the first player this season to have one; calf injuries are one of the more prevalent injuries this season. pic.twitter.com/zhQMc4Rrrf

Given how much time he's missed to injury last season, Dak Prescott is not one to be particularly pleased with sitting if he could very well play.
But the Cowboys have a stranglehold of NFC East, with every other team sporting a 2-5 record compared to their 5-1 mark. They certainly have some breathing room to rest their star QB.
