It’s safe to say there’s no love lost with Dez Bryant and the Dallas Cowboys after the team’s decision to cut him last week. Apart from Bryant wanting to sign with an NFC team to face his former team twice a year, he has also accused former teammates he referred to as Jason “Garrett’s guys” as working against him.

In an interview with 105.3 The Fan, Cowboys VP Stephen Jones dismissed Bryant’s accusation that the coach or anyone within Cowboys organization was out to get him and suggests that it’s only in Bryant’s mind.

“I don’t understand that comment,” Jones said. “I certainly respect anybody that has a comment about the organization. You certainly always see things when it’s difficult for a player to take the next step. Whether it’s a Larry Allen, DeMarcus Ware, an Emmitt Smith, all Hall of Famers who ended up playing with another team. Those things are hard. You know, when you have decided to move on, maybe there’s a thought in your mind [the player] that you weren’t a particular coach’s guy or an organizational guy. But I certainly don’t see that on this football team.”

Obviously, Bryant holds a lot of bitterness toward the Cowboys for how everything all played out with his situation. At this point, it won’t be out of character for him to just keep saying things out of spite for the organization, whether or not they're actually true.

The wise thing for Bryant to do would be to keep quiet and just move on. Unfortunately for Jones and the Cowboys, it may take some time until Bryant finally lets go of the bad feelings he has for his former team.
