The Dallas Cowboys are off to a start out of the gate to the 2018 season dropping three out of their first five games played that has put the head coach Jason Garrett's name

However, team owner Jerry Jones doesn't look like he's ready to go that far just yet with the level of criticism and job security. During a recent interview with 105.3 The Fan, Jones voiced some strong support of Garrett's ability as a coach and the belief that he can lead the team to success.

“He works very hard,” Jones said. “He’s got outstanding background in our game. He’s gained a Harvard, or whatever kind of degree— the best in the world — in the NFL through being your head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. I want to put all of that together and use it.”

It doesn't appear that Jones has even considered going that route just yet with Garrett in any capacity with the exact opposite being the case. Throughout much of his tenure with the Cowboys, there has been much support from management in him that he can get the job done by leading the team to much success.

However, this hasn't exactly been the case as the Cowboys just made the playoffs twice of his first nine seasons coaching the team. There has been a huge amount of success that would typically garner this type of job security from a front office or owner that would help keep a head coach's job.

Garrett has had been able to operate without any true concerns that he could be fired. However, if the Cowboys were to head down the similar path of missing the playoffs in a disappointing manner, it may finally push Jones to put him on the hot seat to consider going another direction. Until then, it looks like Garrett is firmly secure as the head coach.
