The Dallas Cowboys could be looking to make an upgrade at safety before the trade deadline, according to Clarence Hill Jr. of the Dallas Star-Telegram.
Cowboys team owner Jerry Jones told the Star-Telegram that nothing is on the table, but they are looking at some upgrades at safety. If the team were to trade for someone, it would probably be to replace strong safety Jeff Heath.
The team already traded for defensive end Michael Bennett and they will continue to be aggressive if the right trade comes along.
The Cowboys have been trying to improve the safety position for years and have been connected to Earl Thomas for a couple of years. His asking price became too high and the team decided to move in a different direction. The team brought in a bunch of different guys this offseason, but they couldn't sign any impact players and they seem to be paying for that now.

Last season, the Cowboys traded a first-round pick to the Oakland Raiders to get Amari Cooper. Cooper has been a big boost for the team since coming over, and the first-round pick seems worth it at this point.
It's unclear if the Cowboys have a certain player in mind, but one name being floated around is Miami Dolphins safety Reshad Jones.
