In the ongoing holdout saga with the Dallas Cowboys' Ezekiel Elliott, the star running back has reportedly not been offered an official new contract with the NFC East franchise.

Per the Fort Worth Star-Telegram's Clarence Hill Jr. on Twitter, Dallas has “made no new offer” to Elliott. Hill Jr. continues:

Cowboys have made no new offer to Zeke. Same offer as before. Same offer from camp. Nothing new last week. Nothing new this week. Nothing new. Not nothing. Nurting. Carry on.

Elliott, 24, was selected with the Cowboys' fourth overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft out of Ohio State. In short order, the six-foot running back has turned his brief professional career into quite a success, developing into a dynamic offensive threat out of the backfield and leading the league in rushing yards in two of his first three seasons.

Elliott rushed for 1,434 yards, six touchdowns, and nearly 100 yards per game last season in 15 appearances. He also caught 77 receptions for 567 yards, forming an indisputably strong connection with quarterback Dak Prescott, another star player on the Cowboys seeking a new contract with the organization.

Prescott and Elliott form one of the NFL's best duos on offense, and the Cowboys heavily rely on the two to carry their team, signaling that Dallas will likely relinquish in negotiations and finally pay the two their worth.

It's strange to hear that no new deal had been offered Elliott's way, however, as the regular season is in two weeks. Elliott was a no-show during training camp, holding out for a new contract and not participating in the team's preseason matchups.
