The Ezekiel Elliott era is only beginning in Dallas.

The rookie running back has dazzled fans, critics, and players around the league with his physicality, quickness, and ability to read the field. He's leading the NFL in rushing, and he's on pace to set a rookie record (passing Eric Dickerson) in the category.

Despite all of his success, Zeke doesn't believe he's hitting his peak early. Not even close.

In particular, Elliott believes he can improve at the second level and create more big runs. Dallas has one of the best offensive lines in the NFL, so they can consistently move the ball on the ground, but Zeke wants to hit the home run.

“I have yet to show the dominance at the second level…Once that starts happening, it's going to be kind of scary.”

Elliott also discussed the possibility of passing Dickerson's rookie rushing record. More from Machota:

“It's not important. You guys want to write a story about the rookie rushing record. It's about this team… I don't want any attention being put towards that. It should be about this team. It should be about these guys.”

The Cowboys have a bye this week before taking on the rival Eagles the following Sunday.
