The Denver Broncos are far from a contender at this juncture. Head Coach Sean Payton has a lot to work with in year two with the storied franchise.

The Broncos have had a busy offseason already and it could get even busier as the team's three best possible trade targets were named. Courtland Sutton shared his ‘excited' stance on the Broncos drafting the young signal caller.

Recently, Nix got a vote of confidence from a key source: Dan Lanning, the coach of the Oregon Ducks.

Lanning compares Nix to coaches in terms of film study

Dan Lanning got real on the Ducks' former QB.

Lanning appeared on the Colin Cowherd show in a June 11 video during which he said that Nix is almost certain to be the most prepared quarterback on the field. He compared Nix's film study efforts to those of coaches, saying that he watches more film than coaches.

“There's nobody who's going to step on the field more prepared than Bo,” Lanning said.

Fans react to Lanning comments on Broncos' Nix

Lanning's comments were reacted to strongly on X as fans processed what they saw in the short video clip.

“Dan will be regarded as one of the best HC's in the history of college football,” one fan said of the Ducks boss, who famously called out Deion Sanders prior to Oregon's 42-6 beatdown of the media darling Buffaloes.

Another fan didn't seem super impressed with what they had just seen. They believed that Lanning was simply attempting to make his former quarterback look good in the public eye even though he is not quite ready for prime time.

“Colin working his PR game for Bo & Sean,” they said.

“Backup by year 4,” another cynical fan added.

Nix threw five touchdowns in his final game against the Liberty Flames with the Ducks last season before heading off to the NFL Draft. He threw for over 4,500 yards in his final season with Lanning's squad, giving him a leg up on all of his previous seasons with the team and molding himself into the first round draft pick he became prior to last season's drafting by Coach Sean Payton's Broncos.

The jury is out on whether Nix's game will translate immediately at the next level. The Broncos need all the help they can get at quarterback this season and Nix will almost certainly get the first crack at the this year's job.
