Big things are expected from 23-year-old Denver Broncos quarterback Drew Lock as he enters his second season in the NFL.

Lock ended the 2019 season as the Broncos' starter and played well as he led Denver to a couple of wins. Now, both his teammates and fans hope that he will be able to pick up where he left off in the past campaign.

In fact, new addition Melvin Gordon spoke to the media about the second-year signal-caller this week and showed his confidence to Lock's abilities.

“He beat us, so he's worth something,” Gordon said on the Rapsheet and Friends podcast with NFL Network's Ian Rapoport (via 24/7 Sports)

Gordon spent the last season as a member of the Los Angeles Chargers. Denver would face their division rivals in Week 13 where Lock threw for 134 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Broncos to a 23-20 win in his first career start.

“But I think he can be a really good player. He makes some really good throws. I think when he gets fully, full control of the offense, when he's really out there dictating and telling guys what to do and how to do it, I think when he gets that control and his confidence gets to that level, he's going to be a monster,” the new Broncos running back added.

“Obviously, the last couple of games, he built that confidence. … But just more games under his belt with that confidence, it'll just flourish. And when he walks and talks, you can just see it come out. I think he's going to be a bad man.”

All in all, Drew Lock would go 4-1 as Denver's starter, completing 64.1 percent of his passes for 1,020 yards, seven touchdowns and three interceptions.

As for Melvin Gordon, the two-time Pro Bowler signed a two-year, $16 million contract with the Broncos this offseason and should be a reliable option for the team's young quarterback as he continues to settle in his role.
