Former Atlanta Falcons cornerback Jalen Collins has been handed a 10-game suspension for next season, ESPN’s Field Yates reports.
Source: CB Jalen Collins, a 2015 second round pick of the Falcons, has been suspended for the first 10 games of the 2018 season.
Collins, 25, has now been suspended four times in his NFL career. After playing all 16 games in his rookie year in 2015, he was popped for a four-game ban for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.
He was then suspended for 10 games for violating the performance-enhancing substance policy and was later released by the Falcons shortly after being reinstated from that suspension. He was suspended one more time a month after his release for undisclosed reasons and has not caught on with a team since.

Moreover, the likelihood of him ever making it back to the league with four drug-related strikes to his name doesn’t seem too promising.
Given his pedigree and talent as a former second-rounder not to mention his relatively young age, though, there’s still a slight chance a team takes a chance on Collins despite his already checkered history.
However, he’ll first need to get clean and avoid getting suspended for more drug-related offenses before he can ever consider making a successful comeback. And after getting popped again, any possible comeback may not come for another year.
