The Atlanta Falcons are in a bit of dilemma concerning All-Pro wide receiver Julio Jones. He's decided to count as a no-show at all team activities in what has been centered on his current contract situation.
There isn't any concern for his long-term future with the franchise, but it hasn't seen any clarity in the several weeks with training camp approaching in the next few weeks. According to D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, former Falcons great Michael Vick has voiced that he believes Jones deserves to get a pay raise.
“To my knowledge, Julio is holding out for a bigger contract and Julio deserves it,” Vick said told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Monday. “Julio and Matt (Ryan) are the ultimate combination. They just paid Matt and I think Julio should get everything that he deserves, too.”
Jones is currently in the third year of his five-year, $71.2 million deal that has roughly $39.2 million remaining. He is scheduled to make roughly over $14 million for the 2018 campaign; that salary makes him the eighth highest-paid player at his position.

Jones has done everything and more for the Falcons in his first seven seasons in the league establishing himself as one of the best receivers. He is coming off another impressive campaign where he recorded 88 catches for an NFC-best 1,444 receiving yards along with three touchdowns. Jones joined Roddy White (six) as the only players in franchise history with at least five 1,000-yard receiving seasons.
All of this should seemingly lead to the Falcons agreeing to some sort of pay raise for their star wideout in the coming weeks in order to get him back on the field well ahead of the 2018 season.
