There is a large cloudy of uncertainty around the New York Giants surrounding quarterback Eli Manning's future beyond this season with the organization.
In the midst of that, interim general manager Kevin Abrams voiced on Thursday morning that he is hopeful that rookie Davis Webb can get some playing time in the final three games of the season, according to Paul Schwarts of The New York Post.
Kevin Abrams said he wants to see Davis Webb get some playing time "but you can only play one quarterback at a time.'' Said Steve Spagnuolo has final call on QB situation.

This statement from Abrams further complicates the situation with Manning's long-term future in New York. It also comes shortly after co-owner John Mara stated that he hopes the 36-year-old returns for the 2018 season. The disconnect gives an unclear picture of the direction of the franchise after this year.
What makes it more troubling is that Manning is still under contract for two more years. He is set to make $10.5 million next season and $11.5 million for the 2019 campaign. The Giants can part ways with him in 2019 due to a potential out at a $6.2 million dead cap hit.
That said, it's understandable that they have interest in seeing if Webb can potentially be the long-term replacement for Manning, who has shown signs of decline in his play in his 14th season in the league. New York used the 87th overall pick in the third round of this year's draft on Webb with at least some inkling of hope to see if he can be the answer under center down the road.
With three more games left to go in the regular season, the Giants may look to get Webb on the field in some sort of capacity to get a better assessment of him before heading into the offseason.
