The New York Giants have gone through changes during this NFL offseason with hopes of turning things around in 2018 following a three-win season last year. Although the team is trying to right ship quickly and have made steps to do so with a new head coach in Pat Shurmur and a potential star running back in rookie Saquon Barkley, the future of Odell Beckham Jr. in New York has been concerning topic of discussion.
At one point during the offseason, it appeared as though Beckham had played his last game in a Giants uniform with a trade seeming inevitable. Now Beckham may be in for the long haul in New York and even though no agreement has been made on a contract extension, the superstar wideout will reportedly attend voluntary OTAs, according to ESPN's Josina Anderson.
I'm told #Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (ankle) will attend voluntary OTA's, per source. The #Giants begin Phase 3 of the offseason conditioning program Monday, May 21st. Beckham will show, even as the star receiver & the team have yet to come to terms on a contract extension.

This is a promising development for the Giants as it seems as though the drama and uncertainty in New York have subsided. The future may indeed be bright for the storied franchise if they can get Beckham signed to a long-term deal and Barkley turns out to be a game changer.
With Beckham set to attend OTAs, it'll be interesting to see how things pan out with his contract talks and whether he is truly determined to get a new deal done before the 2018 campaign.
Last season, Beckham played in only four games due to an ankle injury suffered in the preseason and a season-ending fractured ankle suffered in the regular season. The superstar wideout finished with 25 receptions for 308 yards and three touchdowns.
