In the last few weeks, there has been some growing chatter surrounding the Oakland Raiders' situation with All-Pro defensive end Khalil Mack that has yet to see any true movement both sides toward working out a new extension. This has seemingly thrown the Green Bay Packers into the picture as a possible landing spot for Mack if the Raiders were to entertain the idea of moving him at any point.

With that in mind, Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst has only brought more fuel to that fire by continuing to hint at his team's possible interest in making a move for talented players. Gutekunst recently voiced that notion once again during a recent Q&A interview with Pete Dougherty of the Green Bay Press-Gazette.

It is clear that the Packers are willing to go to any length to possibly acquire a special talent like Mack if he were to be available in a trade. Green Bay has been pinpointed as a possibility due to Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie's connection to the organization given that he previously worked for the franchise.

Mack is beyond a “unique” talent as he has shown that he can single-handedly change the course of a game behind his play. He has established himself as one of the top defensive players in the league in his first four years in the league.

Mack is coming off yet another highly productive campaign where he had a team-high 10.5 sacks, which made him the fifth player in Raiders history to record at least 10 sacks in three different seasons. His 40.5 sacks through his first four years are the third-most by a player over that stretch in team history and fifth-most all-time.

Ultimately, what these comments from Gutekunst signal that the Packers will continue to monitor closely the situation between the Raiders and Mack.
