Coleman, a rookie in 2018, spent the final two weeks of last season on the 53-man roster. He appeared in one game, against the New York jets on December 23rd, but failed to record a statistic.
The University of Washington product signed with the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent in May 2018. He was released at the conclusion of training camp, inking a deal with the Seattle Seahawks less than 48 hours later. Coleman spent the next six weeks on the team's practice squad before being released on October 23rd. The Packers then signed Coleman to their practice squad on October 31st, and activated him to the game-day roster for Weeks 16 and 17, after they had already been eliminated from playoff contention.

Coleman, of Lompoc, CA, was a four-year contributor for the Huskies. He had a career-high 138 carries as a true freshman, a team-high, but took a backseat to Miami Dolphins seventh-round pick Miles Gaskin over the remaining three seasons of his collegiate career. Coleman's best season came in 2016, when as a junior he had 114 carries for 852 yards and seven touchdowns, averaging a stellar 7.5 yards per rush.
The Packers have undergone major changes since ousting longtime coach Mike McCarthy in December. They hired rookie coach Matt LaFleur in January, and have completely revamped a defense that ranked 22nd in points allowed per game last season.
