The Green Bay Packers appear to be more than happy after selecting former Texas A&M Aggies pass rusher Kingsley Keke in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. With the Packers loading up on defense this offseason, such a pick hardly came as a surprise over the weekend.

“Honestly, this kid is so unique,” Packers area scout Charles Walls recently said, via The Athletic. “I think whatever the coaches want him to do, he can do with his body type. He’s just a broad man with plenty of room to grow. He’s got good muscle mass on him. He can be whatever weight we want him to be and play whatever position we want him to on the D-line.”

The 22-year-old Keke notably stands at 6-foot-4 while weighing just over 300 pounds, giving him both the size and strength to play at the NFL level.

“One thing that we look for is a guy who is somewhat polished,” Walls added, via The Athletic. “He’s polished and he has the athletic qualities to back it up. This is a guy who can work half a man, open his hips, gain leverage on the corner which, for a 290-pound man or a 285-pound man, is hard to do. He does it with ease. I think you guys, if you look at the Senior Bowl, you can see that. He also can play through guys. And he has a great feel for reacting and setting up his plan. He’s just natural there.”

The Packers had no choice but to add to the team's defensive core this offseason as both the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings remain primed for big seasons in 2019.
