Joe Philbin has taken over as the head coach of the Green Bay Packers following the team's move to fire Mike McCarthy. After the embarrassing loss to the Arizona Cardinals, the fans could not be more excited for a fresh start with a new coach. He may not be receiving much hype as the head coach, but Philbin will be a voice of change for the Packers.

As Clutch Points detailed in a recent article, the Packers still have a very unlikely path to the NFL playoffs. There is still something to play for and Aaron Rodgers has no interest in sitting out the rest of the 2018 season.

In his first press conference with the Packers as released by Green Bay's official website, Philbin made some comments that should be a breath of fresh air for the Packers.

“I told them, ‘The No. 1 responsibility that you have is to be a professional. Period. We all have a job to do, we all have to do it better,’” Philbin said. “It’s not like we’re going to fly some magical players or magic coaches in here in the next four weeks. We’ve got a good group of men, we’ve got a good staff, we have to get these guys to play better and we have to make some plays. We have to help each other out and play more complementary football.”

Keeping players accountable and finishing the season with respect is a must for the Packers. Even if they miss the playoffs for the second straight season, the Packers have to get back to what has made them great.

Philbin is the right guy to finish out the year. He is the kind of coach that keeps a strict locker room and is not afraid to step on someone's toes.

More than likely, the Packers will look a big name this offseason to fill their head coaching vacancy. Philbin will be given every chance to show what he's made of, but Green Bay is going to look for a guy like Josh McDaniels or John DeFilippo who can come in and overhaul the offense.

All of that being said, the next four games are going to be interesting to watch for fans in Green Bay with McCarthy no longer receiving a bulk of the blame.
