The Green Bay Packers are holding joint practices this week with the Houston Texans. Both teams will square off on Thursday in each team's first preseason game of the year. After the second day of practice on Tuesday, Matt LaFleur doesn't seem to be satisfied with the offense yet.
This season, LaFleur comes to the Packers after the team has missed the playoffs in the past two seasons. LaFleur replaces Mike McCarthy after McCarthy spent 13 seasons with Green Bay.
With the addition of LaFleur, the Packers are hoping to return to being one of the better offenses in the league again in 2019. With Aaron Rodgers, Aaron Jones, and Davante Adams leading the way, LaFleur should be able to make that happen.
Besides those guys, Green Bay also has young receivers like Geronimo Allison and Marquez Valdes-Scantling that are expected to be crucial to the offense as well. And don't forget about Jimmy Graham who could be rejuvenated in a more up-tempo offense under LaFleur.
Article Continues BelowThis week, LaFleur will have his first look at how the offense looks in their first preseason game against the Texans. Although, the main starters will likely play sparingly or not play at all as LaFleur could elect to play it safe with his skill players.
Avoiding injuries to key starters is one of the main focuses for the Packers this preseason. LaFleur will also get a chance to see some of the younger guys as they try to earn spots on the roster.
With us just being a month away from meaningful NFL games, LaFleur better hope his offense is on the same page when the Packers face off against the Chicago Bears in Week 1.
