Cobb has been dealing with a hamstring injury this week, and he apparently hasn’t been able to recover from it.
Cobb is coming off a brutal game last week against the Washington Redskins. He had just four catches on 11 targets for 22 yards with a fumble. After the game, Cobb readily took responsibility for his part in the team’s 31-17 defeat.
Article Continues BelowThrough three games this season, Cobb is behind only Davante Adams with 17 catches and third with 194 yards.
Cobb’s absence will be a blow to a Packers team looking to get back to winning ways after only coming away with a tie and a loss in the last two weeks. And while the Bills are a relatively easy assignment on paper, the Packers shouldn’t get too complacent, especially after seeing Buffalo deliver a stunning upset against the Vikings 27-6 in Minnesota last week.
With Cobb gone, Aaron Rodgers will have to continue to rely on Geronimo Allison as his secondary receiver behind his No. 1 option Adams. Allison has had a great start to the season, putting up a team-high 209 yards on just 13 catches with two touchdowns. He connected with Rodgers for a 64-yard bomb against the Redskins.
Jimmy Graham and Ty Montgomery could also have increased roles in the Packers offense in Cobb’s absence. Graham had five catches for 45 yards against the Redskins, while Montgomery had six catches for 49 yards.
