Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers are making “measurable progress” on a new deal according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.

According to Rapoport, there is optimism inside the organization that a deal will get done sooner than later and there is hope that it will get done before the regular season starts. Packers General Manager Brian Gutekunst didn't have any updates to pass along on Tuesday and wouldn't put a timeline on getting a deal done.

Rodgers still has two years left on his deal but the going rate for a quarterback in today's NFL is continuing to rise which put some pressure on both sides to get a deal done.
Kirk Cousins just signed the first fully guaranteed contract this offseason and it would be a bit shocking of Rodgers didn't put for the same in his contract.
There also was also some talk earlier this offseason that Rodgers might try to work out a contract that would rise with the salary cap. If the salary cap rose a certain percentage Rodgers pay would also go up a percentage. All those are just speculation and we will know if an agreement is agreed upon.
Even though there is no timeline it would be a bit surprising if the two sides let this drag over into the regular season and continued to have it linger over the team.
