New Green Bay Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst said the team will be more aggressive in free agency this offseason as he looks to get them back in the playoffs following last year’s disappointment. Slowly but surely, he’s making good on that promise.

They’ve already met with defensive lineman Muhammad Wilkerson this offseason following his release from the New York Jets. And according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, the Packers are also among a number of teams who have already reached out to free-agent tight end Jimmy Graham.

Graham, 31, is widely expected to move on this offseason following three years with the Seattle Seahawks. He had 57 catches for 520 receiving yards last season for the Seahawks and also had 10 touchdowns, his most TD catches since his last season with the New Orleans Saints.

Speaking of the Saints, Graham has been linked with a possible return to New Orleans this offseason. Graham spent his first five seasons in the league with the Saints, where he flourished in Sean Payton's system and emerged as one of Drew Brees' top red-zone targets.

Graham would serve a similar role in Green Bay with Aaron Rodgers in need of a more prolific option at tight end. The trio of Martellus Bennett, Lance Kendricks, and Richard Rodgers combined for just a shade under 600 yards and two touchdowns.

The Packers also got a down season from veteran receiver Jordy Nelson. Nelson had just 53 catches for 482 yards last season, which has prompted the possibility of him getting cut this offseason. Graham's addition would help make up for the possible loss of Nelson due to his dynamic ability as a playmaker at the tight end position.
