Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that Houston Texans star J.J. Watt may have suffered a torn pec during the team's 27-24 win over the Oakland Raiders in Week 8. If the MRI results confirm that possibility then he is expected to miss the remainder of the season.

The injury occurred during the second quarter when Watt made a tackle. He left the field to head to the medical tent and then ultimately headed to the locker room. It was originally announced that he was questionable to return to the game but he was ultimately ruled out ahead of the beginning of the third quarter.
The performance that Watt was putting together before being ruled out was solid. He had three tackles, a tackle for a loss, and a pass breakup. All of that was accomplished in a little over one-quarter of action.
Article Continues BelowLosing Watt for what could be the remainder of the season would deal the Texans a tough blow for their chances of winning the AFC South. They currently have a 5-3 record while the division-leading Indianapolis Colts improved to 5-2 with their win over the Denver Broncos.
The injuries are starting to rack up for the Texans' defense as they were already with their two regular starting cornerbacks, Jonathan Joseph and Bradley Roby. They will need to stay as healthy as they can to close the season to avoid experiencing slippage in their execution.
It is unknown when the MRI results are expected to be confirmed, but stay tuned for updates.
