Through his first six years in the league, Houston Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins has established himself as one of the players in the league at his position.
However, Hopkins hasn't received the same national recognition as many of his peers in the league over the last few seasons that despite his elite level of production. In response to that, he voiced during an interview with Good Morning Football on Thursday that he doesn't believe any other wide receiver could have put the numbers he has in the situation he has been in over the bulk of his career.

Like you said earlier having 6,000 (receiving) yards being the only third youngest player to do that. I don't anybody in the NFL could have the patience. I'm not calling guys out, but I see guys upset when they get 10 balls a game. It's like man you couldn't go through what I went through with that attitude or not have the patience. I don't think any receiver could do what I have done.”
Hopkins has a strong argument when it comes to his situation over the years in Houston as he had to play with a plethora of quarterbacks along the way, but has managed to continue to produce at a high level. He had to deal with much in flux at the position catching passes from the likes of Tom Savage, Brian Hoyer, Brock Osweiler, T.J. Yates, Case Keenum, Ryan Mallet, and Brandon Weeden.
The Texans have finally found some much-needed stability under center Deshaun Watson the last couple of seasons, but Hopkins ability to produce at the rate he has over that stretch has been quite impressive. He has been able to garner two Pro Bowl nods, a First Team All-Pro selection, and Second-Team All-Pro nod. Hopkins has put up three 1,000 receiving yard campaigns with more 800 receiving yards in each year and more than 70 catches all but once over his first five full seasons.
The 26-year-old is off to a blazing pace this year as well with 30 catches on 44 targets for 443 receiving yards and two touchdowns. This has put his trajectory toward career highs with 120 receptions for 1,776 receiving yards along with eight touchdowns. All of this simply comes down to him to continue to produce on the field and that much-earned recognition will come with time.
