It has been just over a month since the Houston Texans acquired former Pro Bowl wide receivers Demaryius Thomas from the Denver Broncos prior to the trade deadline.

Thomas had gone through an adjustment period over the last few weeks that has seen his role in the passing game continue to fluctuate. With that in mind, the 30-year-old voice that this week he has gained another level of comfort with his team that he believes should help him take his production to the next level. “I'd say this week is probably my most comfortable, going into the game, game-planning. I was telling one of the guys a while ago, ‘I was perfect on my walkthrough.' I think that's the first time since I've been here. It's been great. Trying to get on the same page with Deshaun. It's going to take reps, but so far, so good.”

In four games played, Thomas has notched 10 catches on 14 targets for 131 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Since hauling in 61 receiving yards on three receptions in his debut with the Texans, he has failed to tally more than 50 receiving yards in the last three games.

In fact, he his production has been on both ends of the spectrum as he has a game where he failed to notch a single reception while he hauled in a pair of touchdowns against the Tennessee Titans. He has been able to pick up a more consistent role in the last couple of weeks as he has notched at least three catches in each of the last two games that have been evident that the team is trying to work to get him more involved.

The final month of the regular season should be an opportunity for him to increase his role while proving to be a key in helping the Texans making a deep run in the playoffs.
