Article Continues BelowTexans star quarterback Deshaun Watson sustained a chest injury during an overtime victory Sunday night against the Dallas Cowboys.
The second-year passer is regarded as day to day. The Texans have a home game Sunday against the Buffalo Bills.
Watson had suffered some notable hits in last Sunday's game that drew some attention, which it appears that it has had some lingering impact on him in the days that have followed. This shouldn't draw too much concern as it shouldn't prevent him from being able to take the field against the Bills as it may be something that will limit him in practice over the coming days ahead of the contest.
The 23-year-old has looked more comfortable throwing the ball with each passing game following his return to the field from a torn ACL. Watson is currently sixth with 1,621 passing yards on 65.1 percent completion rate along with eight touchdown passes to five interceptions. Watson is coming off his fourth straight 300 passing yard performance after completing 33-of-44 passes for 375 yards with a touchdown and an interception. He has proven that he can be an effective passer while utilizing his legs when necessary as he has 201 rushing yards on 34 attempts with a touchdown.
Watson has a chance to push the Texans back to the .500 mark on Sunday with a potentially favorable matchup against the Bills, who have dropped three out of their first five games played . Until then, Houston will continue to monitor his health leading up to the game.
