On Friday, Deshaun Watson was found to not face criminal charges for the over two-dozen sexual assault allegations against him. He still has the civil suits to deal with and could still receive a suspension from the NFL. However, due to the recent development of Watson's situation, many teams around the league are showing interest in the Houston Texans' quarterback once again.
However, it sounds like some teams had their eyes on Watson and the Texans throughout this entire process. According to Albert Breer, “a number of teams have put their security personnel on the case, and some even hired private investigators to stay on top of it from the ground in Houston.” Considering Watson is one of the league's best quarterbacks, it's not too surprising to hear trade suitors conduct their own research like this.
It's up in the air on who will acquire Deshaun Watson. There will surely be a bidding war to acquire the Texans' disgruntled quarterback. However, it is important to keep in mind that the NFL can inflict a suspension on Watson. We likely won't know what the punishments are until a trade is finalized.
